The first one - Langkawi Book Village are based on Hay-on-Wye Book Village where you will find antique and rare book. Once upon a time when i visited the village in 2002, i managed to chat about book world with its manager, Hj Ismail. I wish i could see he again.
The place at Lubuk Semilang promised a great spot for book lovers. Unfortunately, it is confirmed that the village is dead now.. i guess where goes all those good books?

The second one is in Malacca. To be exact at Botanikal Garden, Ayer keroh, Malacca. launched in 2007. Surprisingly, even tough I am in the book industry all this while but I dont know about the existance about this place after it has been launched 2 years ago..? Dont they supposed to let the people in the book world to know it first?

When book lover don't know about the village, they wont go, when they dont go, you cannot expect non-book people (accidentally tourist etc.) to go there... this is one of the reasons why a book village in Malaysia can die easily. Why they didn't officially tell the people during main book event like KL Bookfair? i am worried about this trend. People who are supposed to promote book, literacy, publishing etc. did not promote it correctly.
We always talk about promoting our book to Frankfurt every year but what we have started locally never become permanent...hmmmm
